Victoria Creighton

Family Therapist

Victoria is passionate about helping people develop a strong and authentic self. She believes in empowering students to find and use their voice as they mature into thriving young adults in an increasingly complex world.

Victoria earned her doctorate in clinical psychology in 2000. In her role as Clinical Director, Victoria brings 25 years of field experience along with a fresh, dynamic approach to her work with students and their families.

Victoria comes to Portugal from Ontario, Canada, where she was the Clinical Director at Pine River Institute, a residential treatment facility for adolescents struggling with addictive behaviors. Prior to working at Pine River, Victoria served as a Clinical Supervisor for Montana Academy. It was there that she learned the essential elements of creating an attuned container that promotes self-development and maturity.

Adding to her experience, Victoria has 10 years of training in Satir Family Therapy. Grounded in the core belief of self-responsibility, congruent communication, and self-esteem, Victoria’s emphasis has been on creating an environment that supports the “emerging self” of the young adult. Her passion over the last few years has been to help families do the same.

Victoria recognizes that the development of one’s true self does not happen in isolation, but instead requires a deep immersion with others, experiences that push one’s comfort zone, and time in nature to reflect and digest new ideas.

Victoria’s other passions include riding and training horses, oil painting, spirituality, and summiting mountains.
