Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 1, 2026

Echo Springs respects the privacy of the young adults, families, referring professionals, and other visitors who contact us or use our website. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the website, how we use it, and the choices and rights that may be available to you.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to this Echo Springs website, including online inquiries, contact forms, and newsletter sign-ups. The website is operated by Echo Springs Transition Study Center, located at 1018 E Front Ave, Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814 | Mailing Address: 217 Cedar Street #121, Sandpoint, ID 83864. “Echo Springs,” “we,” and “our” refer to that operator and, when appropriate, the Echo program entity involved in responding to your inquiry.

Echo Springs offers programs in Idaho, Utah, and Portugal. The legal entity responsible for enrollment and program services may depend on the location you are considering. We can identify the relevant program entity when you contact us.

This policy covers general website information. Enrollment, therapy, clinical records, and other participant information may be subject to additional notices, consent forms, confidentiality requirements, and applicable health or privacy laws. Where a separate clinical Notice of Privacy Practices is legally required, it will be provided as appropriate. This website policy does not replace that notice.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

When you contact us or submit an inquiry, you may provide your name, email address, phone number, relationship to a prospective participant, program interests, preferred location, and the information or questions you choose to share. If you subscribe to updates, we collect the contact information needed to send them.

An inquiry about a young adult may include details about their education, previous support or treatment, health, or current circumstances. Please share only what is necessary for an initial conversation. Do not send medical records, Social Security numbers, detailed treatment histories, or other highly sensitive documents through a general website form or ordinary email. We will explain how to provide sensitive records through an appropriate process if they are needed.

Information we receive from others

With appropriate permission or another lawful basis, we may receive relevant information from parents or guardians, the young adult, educational consultants, therapists, or other professionals involved in exploring an admission. Information collected during a formal admissions process may be governed by additional notices and authorizations.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the website, Squarespace and any enabled analytics or technical services may collect information such as your IP address, general location, browser and device characteristics, pages visited, referring website, approximate visit times, and cookie preferences. The information collected depends on the website settings, cookies you accept, and any third-party features in use.

3. How we use information

  • Respond to questions, requests, and admissions inquiries.

  • Understand a young adult’s needs and help assess whether an Echo Springs program may be an appropriate option.

  • Coordinate follow-up conversations and, when requested, the next steps of admissions.

  • Send program news and updates when you choose to subscribe.

  • Operate, protect, troubleshoot, and improve the website and understand how visitors use it.

  • Comply with applicable laws, respond to lawful requests, and protect rights and safety.

We will not treat a request for admissions information as permission to subscribe you to promotional emails. You can unsubscribe from marketing communications using the link in the message or by contacting us.

4. Legal grounds for processing, where applicable

Where the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or similar laws apply, our legal grounds may include responding to requests or taking steps toward a possible enrollment at your request, legitimate interests in communicating with interested individuals and maintaining a secure website, compliance with legal obligations, and consent for marketing or optional cookies where required.

Health and other sensitive personal information receives additional protections. We process such information only when a lawful basis and any additional legal conditions are satisfied. If an inquiry moves into formal clinical or admissions review, we may provide more specific notices and obtain the permissions or authorizations that apply.

5. When information may be shared

We may share information with members of the Echo team who need it to respond to an inquiry or evaluate next steps, and with the applicable Idaho, Utah, or Portugal program entity as relevant to your request. With appropriate permission, we may communicate with referring or treating professionals or others you identify.

We also use service providers to operate the site and related communications, including Squarespace for website hosting and functions, and any enabled email, form, analytics, or technical service providers. These providers may process information in connection with the services they supply. We may disclose information where legally required, to address security issues, or to protect the rights and safety of individuals.

We do not publish admissions inquiries or personal details that visitors send us on the website. Information you choose to post on third-party social media pages is subject to those platforms’ practices.

6. Cookies, analytics, and embedded content

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for essential functions, security, visitor preferences, and, when enabled, analytics or embedded content. Non-essential cookies may be used only in accordance with applicable consent and choice requirements. You can manage browser cookies through your browser settings and, where offered, the website’s cookie preference controls.

Some pages may include content or links supplied by third parties, such as videos, maps, or social platforms. When you use those features, the third party may collect information under its own privacy policy. Please review the privacy practices of any third-party services you choose to use.

7. How long we retain information

We retain website inquiries and correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to respond, consider next steps, keep appropriate records, resolve concerns, and meet legal obligations. Newsletter subscription information is retained until you unsubscribe or it is no longer needed, with limited information retained if necessary to respect an opt-out. Website analytics and technical data may be retained according to the applicable provider’s settings and retention periods.

Formal admissions and participant records may have different retention requirements under applicable law and program policies. When information is no longer needed, we take steps to delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it as appropriate.

8. Security and sensitive inquiries

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. No website or electronic transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.

Please use the website for initial questions rather than sending urgent health concerns or detailed confidential records. If sensitive information is needed, ask our team for the appropriate submission method.

9. Your privacy choices and rights

You may contact us to ask about personal information associated with your website interactions, request a correction or deletion, or raise a concern. Your rights and our response obligations depend on the law that applies to your information and may be subject to appropriate verification and exceptions.

If GDPR applies, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, or transfer personal data, object to certain processing, withdraw consent where processing depends on consent, and complain to an appropriate supervisory authority. Withdrawing consent does not affect lawful processing completed before withdrawal.

To make a privacy request, email chelsea@echo-springs.com with “Privacy Request” in the subject line, or contact us using the details below. Please do not include sensitive health information in the initial request.

10. International information transfers

Echo Springs works across the United States and Portugal, and our website providers or team members may process information in other countries. Privacy protections can differ between countries. Where cross-border transfer rules apply, we will use the measures required by applicable law, which may include recognized transfer safeguards. Contact us if you have questions about how your information is handled across locations.

11. Young people and privacy

This website is intended for people seeking information about programs for older teens and young adults, their families, and professionals. It is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us through the website, please contact us so we can address it appropriately.

We respect the privacy interests of prospective participants, including those who are 17 years old. Whether information may be shared with a parent, guardian, or other person depends on the individual circumstances, permissions, and applicable law.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our website practices, services, or legal obligations change. We will post the updated version here and revise the effective date. If a change requires additional notice or consent under applicable law, we will provide it.
