Bryan Shores, CMHC, NCC
Executive & Clinical Director
Bryan Shores is a Clinical Mental Health Counselor with extensive experience in both residential treatment and private practice. As Clinical Director, at Echo Springs Utah, he brings a relational, strengths-based approach to guiding young adults and their families through complex mental health challenges with clarity, compassion, and evidence=based care.
Bryan is trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), EMDR, Brainspotting, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and a variety of experiential modalities including equine-assisted therapy, adventure therapy, and play therapy. He has worked extensively with individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, OCD, and neurodivergent experiences - including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and related executive functioning challenges. His therapeutic work focuses on building resilience, confidence, and emotional regulation while helping young adults develop the tools they need to thrive beyond treatment.
Originally from Sterling, Virginia, Bryan fondly remembers summer thunderstorms and watching chain lightning from the front porch - one of his earliest connections to mindfulness and reflection. He later lived in Colorado while completing his master's degree, and now lives just minutes from the Echo Springs Utah campus.
Bryan began his work in mental health as a volunteer counselor for peers in 2011, and has since built a career rooted in connection and growth. He's deeply aligned with Echo's mission to support young adults during one of life's most important transitions - and feels honored to carry that legacy forward.
Outside of work, you'll find Bryan exploring the outdoors with his fiancee and their two German Shepherds. He loves camping, hiking, rock climbing, and snowboarding - and is also a skilled fire spinner, practicing movement arts like Fire Poi and Fire Staff since 2015
